What is SSL?
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a security protocol developed in order to provide security and confidentiality of the data transfer provided over the internet with double-sided encryption. In a website protected with SSL, information is automatically encrypted first and can only be decrypted in the address of the correct receiver. Verification is performed on both sides and thus the confidentiality and integrity of the information is preserved.
The power of this encryption used during data transfer is determined by the length of its key. SSL protocol uses 40 bit and 128 bit encryption. This encryption has 2128 different key combinations and its decryption is very difficult.
