The internet access takes place through the internet connections of a satellite ground station and uninterrupted access is provided independently from land infrastructures. The VSAT solution operates in all locations within range of the satellite.

 

VSAT solution technology is characterized by distribution of high-cost satellite rents. In case of heavy, continuous use, speeds are likely to drop gradually. This does not affect organizations using e-mail and web services and or those without applications such as continuous video streaming.

 

Since VSAT solutions costs are much higher than land access alternatives, there are basically three different areas of use:

2. As a back up the existing land connections
